Do I need the song to be released already?

A few habits that make the link work harder
Make the smart link before release day, so the URL in your pre-release posts is the same one people see on release day — the page just gains its platform buttons when the track goes live. Put it in the one place people look (bio, YouTube description, pinned post) and leave it there; the temptation is to swap in “just the Spotify link” for a day, and that is exactly the trade-off the smart link exists to remove.
